2024 Recap: A Year of Growth, Giving, and Exploration
As the year comes to a close, I'm grateful to reflect on the experiences that have shaped me. Here are some highlights from my 2024 journey:
Academic and Professional Pursuits
Published a research paper in Elsevier in December 2024, a culmination of hard work and dedication.
Applied to various Master's and PhD programs, and although I received an admission offer, but I couldn't start because of my inability to secure funding.
Embarked on a data science journey with the 3 Million Tech Talent program 3MTT Nigeria by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Acquired new skills through Python classes sponsored by GIZ and ALX Nigeria's Professional Foundations and AiCE Career Essentials courses.
Volunteering and Community Service
Continued my commitment to donating blood every 3 months, with my last donation on December 30th. I've been proudly doing this since 2012! national blood transfusion service nbts Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service
Contributed to the success of the Nigerian Red Cross Society HQ FUTA Detachment, alongside other statemen, in their passing out parade and other activities.
Joined the 4th Akure Battalion Council of Boys Brigade Nigeria as a member and officer, contributing to the development of young leaders.
Personal Growth and Wellness
Prioritized physical and mental well-being by going mountain/hill hiking every other Saturday.
Expanded my professional network on LinkedIn, connecting with like-minded individuals and industry experts.
Also, I attended the Global Entrepreneurship Festival held in Akure, Ondo state where I met Moses Praiz and Wakawaka Doctor and other prominent figures
As I look to the future, I'm excited to explore new opportunities in data science and analytics. I'm open to internships, jobs, and collaborations that align with my skills and passions. I'm also eagerly looking forward to PhD/MRes opportunities in cardiovascular studies, diabetes research, bioinformatics or genomics, where I can further contribute to groundbreaking research and make a meaningful impact.
